I joined the conversation based only on your posting.

I don't follow this area of VR close enough to know.

VR has been a minefield, historically. Big opportunities to make money short. This entity includes the former Lernout and Hauspie, and Dictaphone which L&H bought before improprieties shut them down. I think Dictaphone sued to get the purchase undone, and eventually wound up back together, here.

Someday, it might make money.

In the past there were patent problems and challenges, but NUAN may have consolidated enough entities to have them "all". If I checked into it before investing, I would read that area of SEC filings carefully.

To know the investment prospects you have to know the IP positions. The projected 2009 growth in EPS and Revenues is too low to reflect this area, so there must be competition or strong downtrends in pricing or both.

If Microsoft thought this company was solid, they would have bought it at $8. Why didn't they?

And why did Xerox allow their portion to spin out?
