My argument is that the government intervenes successfully in many cases.

It does. But in others, intervention is not successful, at least not in proportion to the burden. That it works in some arenas does not demonstrate that it would work in this arena. It only demonstrates that it is a possible candidate, something to be considered.

when it may be, and has proven to be in most other similar countries, the best solution.

I realize that this has been demonstrated to your satisfaction and to that of many others. But that doesn't end the need to respond to reservations of those not so predisposed to buy in. Repeating the opinion that it has been proven the best solution in other counties doesn't do that.

Let me ask you this: why do you think that no presidential candidate is proposing a single-payer program if it's so obviously the best solution?
