It is common for people who feel powerless in the face of superior intellect to try to denigrate their opponent. That's true but that's not what's happening between you and John. John, I know lots of normal people. The few that think that my opinions are odd are people who seem reliant on partisan leftwing media for their instructions on what to think. I know many people who disagree with some of my opinions, but not many who disagree with most. Those I do know who disagree enjoy debating with me because they are treated with respect. It appears unlikely the same would be said of you. That's because everyone with whom you deal in your world has similar views. Outside your world, your views come off rigid and artificial......pedantic even. And when anyone disagrees with you, you become defensive and self righteous. Well I've got news for you...there are lots of people in this big country who see you as a rightwinger esp. now that the country is moving left.
