ckg.wt - Chesapeake wts traded at an all-time high yesterday, then closed a nickel from it today ... Condor cn.v is another that's made a new high in very recent days ... Kootenay didn't quite get to its december high yesterday, but wasn't far off People talking corrections, well of course there will be corrections, still a lot of these puppies will put on triples and five-baggers before retracing, and that's not just the discovery drillbit juniors, but the solid development plays as well ... it is possible that some of that old Diamondfields Arequipa Cartaway [yeah, had to throw that in-g-] fervour will return to news on drillbit plays, with a wider public tuning in, and bidding them up, but known substance will catch most of the attention, to multiples we're hesitant to mention now
The bull will run for years because the bear ran for years, no money went into exploration and development, geologists and drillers and miners and the people who make mining equipment had no jobs, so there is not enough new metal onstream ... can't just flick a switch and turn mines on, takes time, meanwhile about half the planet's population who have never used much metal have decided that they might like to, if they can get it - the indians are going to make a twenty-five hundred dollar car, and lots of them, said the radio, and while they may not have the wiring and rustproofing that NA/euro/jap cars do, you can bet there will be a few pounds of copper and zinc in each one ... this is not happening in a vacuum, it's happening when old mines are rapidly becoming holes in the ground ... the chinese could likely have a slowdown after the Olympics, but there are many others to pick up the slack, i think base metals have a future for a long time yet ... PMs, well they are coming back into fashion, and fashion can run with things for a while - silver supply is not large, with little for stocks above ground, wouldn't take much to run it |
