It does. But in others, intervention is not successful, at least not in proportion to the burden.

That it works in some arenas does not demonstrate that it would work in this arena. It only demonstrates that it is a possible candidate, something to be considered.

Yep... and some folks won't make that consideration.

Let me ask you this: why do you think that no presidential candidate is proposing a single-payer program if it's so obviously the best solution?

Because it's very difficult politically. First thing you will get is the health insurance industry pouring dollars into your opponents coffers. Second thing you will get is 527's running attack ads.
