American Technology Announces LRAD(R) Orders for Azerbaijan and Sacramento
Sheriff's Department

Receives New LRAD-R(R) Order From L-3 Communications

SAN DIEGO, CA, Jan 10, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- American Technology
Corporation (ATC) (ATCO), a leading innovator of directed sound products and
technologies, announced today it has received a new LRAD-R(R) order from L-3
Communications and an opening LRAD(R) systems order destined for Azerbaijan. The
Company also announced it has received LRAD 500(R) and LRAD 1000(R) orders from
the Sacramento Sheriff's Department. The orders total over $450,000.

"We are pleased to receive our second LRAD-R L-3 order and add Azerbaijan to our
growing list of global LRAD installations," remarked Tom Brown, president and CEO
of American Technology. "The U.S. Navy's September selection of our enhanced LRAD
1000 as its acoustic hailing and warning device (AHD) for large vessels, and the
U.S. Navy and U.S. Army's selection in May of our enhanced LRAD 500 as their AHD
for small vessels and vehicles, continue to open many doors and increasing
worldwide LRAD deployments."

ATC created the directed acoustic hailing and warning device market category with
the introduction of its proprietary LRAD (Long Range Acoustic Device) technology
and products in 2002. LRAD uses high intensity 15 degrees - 30 degrees focused
acoustic output to communicate well in excess of 500 meters with authority and
high intelligibility. Through the use of powerful voice commands and deterrent
tones, large safety zones can be created while determining the intent,
influencing the behavior and gaining the compliance of an intruder or suspect.

"The orders from the Sacramento Sheriff's Department and from other law
enforcement agencies signal an increasing awareness and appreciation of LRAD's
unique directed sound capabilities and versatility in the field," added Brown.
"Powered by growing foreign and domestic LRAD and LRAD-R orders facilitated
through our direct sales, and through integrated sales by major defense firms, we
expect the quantity, quality and margins of our fiscal year 2008 revenues to be
significantly improved over fiscal 2007."
