For example a propensity to these healthy habits may also correlate with a propensity to other healthy habits that where not tested for, it might correlate with wealth (and wealthy people do tend to live longer on the average) and better living conditions, it might correlate with having less stress, it might even correlate with genetic factors that tend to lead to longer lives.
