Many of the things listed in that blog post that are better about France's health care system, are not things that require a national health insurance system, and/or are not things that putting a national health insurance in place would automatically or even likely provide. Practice liability is greatly diminished by a tort-averse legal system A different legal culture isn't part of the health care system, although it does affect it. and medical schools, although extremely competitive to enter, are tuition-free. ... Which is probably, at least partially, and maybe totally do to a government program, but it isn't a health care program but rather a higher education program. Sécurité Sociale has created a standardized and speedy system for physician billing and patient reimbursement... A national health insurance system could put in an efficient system, but you can have such a system without the government running it, and the government running doesn't automatically make it efficient.
