Looks like a great value, but if they do shady things like write-up their investments above a legitimate market value, it makes you wonder what else they might do, particularly when they have potential for self-dealing and inflating profits with all these inter-entity relationships (and in a horrendously bad credit environment to boot). It is not the amount of the illegimitate mark-up that bothers me, but they fact they are doing it.

When you are betting on an asset manager, I'd rather own a more expensive manager that I could trust.

That being said, I wouldn't bet against them here either.
