Thanks so much, Lane, for a very informative article. It fleshes out my limited understanding of French healthcare. As everyone on the thread can tell from my confusion over Canada's form of healthcare, I haven't researched the topic to much extent. I don't expect this country to leave the present structure any time soon if ever, so haven't spent much time examining all the issues. The visceral rejection of anything that smacks of socialism will most likely keep our govt. whether dem or rep from doing anything more than cobbling together a system of private market solutions.
