Good point.

Insurance (of the type that we typically have in the health insurance area now, not real insurance for large uncertain risks) distorts price signals.

Employer provision of it may distort them even more.

Favorable government treatment of employer provided health insurance adds a further distortion.

Which doesn't mean that government provision can't make things even worse, but we already have heavily distorted price signals in many areas of health care.
