Is that it? I mean, Romney teared up after Iowa and NH. And I don't think that was orchestrated.

What you have are candidates that have dreamed of being President for years and years, worked hard to maintain a stoic demeanor, and found themselves behind in intense races in which they suddenly found themselves behind and in danger of having their dreams and hard work crushed. Also, keep in mind that candidates are now campaigning 24/7 for several months to years longer than they usually would... Romney decided he was running in '04 and Hillary not soon after. I'd probably cry if I were in their shoes, and I think given the length of the campaign, I'd bet that they're not the last candidates this season to lose it a bit on camera.
