My husband and son see it the same way you do Gloop. At first I joked and said, GWB will get the blame for this too, but he says, GWB had nothing to do with this. They think this is not a US thing....it's a global thing! And has been going on and getting worse for years. The mortgage Greed, the bundles sold without knowing what was in them, and multiplied...the banks Greed, and then worldwide....
And then we add in the oil 'mess' with no new refineries, no new drilling, the ME in a mess, etc. Carter when he got the Shah out of Iran really set lots of problems in motion. When Iran was taken over by the Mullahs, AQ came to the fore, as did the other terrorist groups... Israel is a stabilizing force now, but it only has 5 million or so....the ME countries in the area have about 125 million....another Country had to be a stabilizing force to hold Iran in check....thus Iraq. We'd better all hope that Iraq can be stabilized and have some sort of democracy.
Then we add into the mix China and India, and the teeming millions....in the US we only have 300 Million....versus BILLIONS .
And on top of that....terrorism of mega consequence to worry about.
And yet, so many Americans blithely are dancing through the tulips with nary a care in the world and don't even give a rip who is in control of America....
We'd better start caring. There is more than plenty to think about. |
