Yes, it took Terri Schiavo 13 days to die of thirst. A cruel way to die. It would be a crime to do this to an animal.


That statement notes that patients in PVS have:

* No evidence of awareness of self or environment and an inability to interact with others;
* No evidence of sustained, reproducible, purposeful, or voluntary behavioral responses to visual, auditory, tactile, or noxious stimuli;
* No evidence of language comprehension or expression;

There was testimony that such things existed in Terri Schiavo's case.
