DJ Fair Isaac Lowers Prelim 1Q EPS View To 37c-39c >FIC

Fair Isaac Corp. (FIC) expects to report fiscal first-quarter earnings of 37 cents to 39 cents a share, lower than its prior guidance of 45 cents a share.

The Minneapolis developer of credit scoring systems said net income for the quarter ended Dec. 31 is expected between $19 million to $21 million, down from $31.2 million in the year-earlier period.

First-quarter revenue is expected between $198 million to $200 million, down from its guidance of $205 million.

On average, analysts polled by Thomson Financial predict first-quarter earnings of 45 cents a share on revenue of $205 million.

For the fiscal second quarter, the company predicts earnings of 44 cents a share on revenue of $205 million.

Earnings for fiscal 2008 are estimated between $1.80 to $1.90 a share on revenue of $825 million to $835 million.
