propose that the games be continuous with no gaps in between. Just like investing.
That could work, but the problem would be in the finals days of each game most posters are going to be posting on their positions for the next round rather than focusing on who will win/lose the about to be completed round. So conceptually it makes sense, but it is likely to steal a bit of the "limelight" (if there is any) from the winner.
If anyone else has a view, chime in....
1. The closing positions are counted for determining the ranking in that game and for you reporting the positions held, how many beat the S&P, etc., for the record and for anyone interested in seeing those details (like buy AAPL and XOM and win).
Hmmm, this makes me think - we could try to set up some type of ranking. In fact, maybe if I have the time I'll go back and get the final positions for everyone who has been in three games or more, and give them some ranking. How about, if you have three finishes or more, your score is calculated as (# of players in the game - your finish place the game)/(# of games), and the highest score is ranked 1, next highest is ranked 2, etc.? |
