Out of my water stock SWWC and moved the funds into PCL (Plum Creek REIT). This is a timber REIT that yields just over 4% that provides a good hedge against inflation and typically outperforms other growth companies in times of recession.

The Only Money That Grows On Trees… And How to Invest in the Two "Redwoods" of Wall Street

The company has achieved a CAGR of over 12% since it's inception which is better than my long term target of 10% for this IRA account.

PCL should provide good long term growth returns as the company generates long term capital gains from the sale of land parcels that they rezone. Cash flow is achieved from timber sales, natural gas leases (w/ royalty payments) and the sales of other sustainable resources including wood pulp, wood chips for biofuels and aggregate (sand, gravel and crushed stone).
