you:

it won't overtake NAND memory because of small capacity (Intel were only able to get their demo chip PRAM at 128MB), but NOR is fair game because they come in typically smaller sizes and PRAM is faster and more reliable.
Intel is ment to be producing PRAM first half of this year and
Nokia have been evaluating their chips.

Did you notice the date on the article, March 07. It seems strange that we haven't heard about any production facilities being built yet. Especially if production is to start in 08 as Samsung said.

The article I posted was dated 1/3/08. In it Al Fazio, an INTC fellow said the following:

"Fazio is quick to admit that, from an NVM perspective, for the rest of this decade and the beginning of the next, it seems clear that nothing will supplant flash, specifically NAND flash — it will remain the mainstream flash memory technology over the next several years."

At this point NAND appears to be the common denominator. Maybe at some time PCM will be a problem, but who knows when that might be.
