Hello all,
Have enjoyed much of the readings here. It has gotten a bit nasty though. Why? I do not know this answer, nor do I care too much.

I'm I a mad cow, or is Chris Alexander short heavily in Amati and he is not doing a good job trying to tell others otherwise? If Chris is not short, one rational person must ask, why is he here in this message board, with a supposed position in AMTX at 22 and lambasting everyone here and the stock (well, of course, until it hits the 10-12 range again :-)?

Anyway, a question--The semi company that the Muse from the Motley Fool reported on is supposedly the "worlds largest". How does one say this is Toshiba (Jim) as opposed to Intel? There are no questions that Intel is the largest semi co in the world. And Toshiba is perhaps one of the biggest, but...

I am very interested in coming partnerships and announcements from Amati but am a bit weary after the strange conference call because it is very difficult to know the motives behind it.

I do agree with Techie about the uses of ADSL and how it will provide what she(?) is looking for. I want to know what will give me the cheapest, most reliable service to my PC to surf the Web.

It is common sense that ADSL/VDSL and cable modems and wireless are coming to most people in some form by the end of 1997, early 1998.
I personally like the ADSL solution better (I've been doing research thank you) and I can't think of a better way to play this than Amati.
Westell and Pairgain are indeed interesting plays here, but their market caps are still significantly higher than Amati's. Amati is no doubt a speculative investment, but a story stock I will follow until they show me that someone has a better technology, better positioning worldwide, or a better entrance point.

Let's think here. If ADSL is huge in the coming two years--who do you think the main three benefactors (companies)of this will be (at least currently)? You simply cannot have AMATI out of this equation, no? Please show me how?

Also, those that think surfing the Web from ones couch (ie. on the T.V.) is in anyones future is just not using their cerebellum. I can barely read the fine print of all these Web pages sitting here at my desk. ;-)

Waiting and watching,
pigboy
