Gannon was a male prostitute who was just starting out as a novice rightwing blogger. He was not a famous reporter like Helen Thomas, or any reporter at all. Also, Gannon was used by Rove to ask the most softball questions of McClellan for him to promote Bushie propaganda. There was no journalistic integrity whatsoever. It would be as if Rove brought you into the White House 202 times in one year to get you to repeat rightwing lies, that is assuming you were a gay prositute like Gannon. It was pretty obvious what was happening. In fact, at the time the entire press-political hierarchy of the White House under Rove were homosexuals. The Gannon case also goes back to the huge gay pedophile scandal of 1989 involving the Bush families Pioneer GOP big wigs partying with teenaged boys in Ohama. That scandal was hushed up but it was enormous and exposed the fact that many in the rightwing hierarchy are like J. Edgar Hoover, closet queens and also child predators. The word is, Gannon was one of those molested boys.
