The glass (assuming you choose it correctly) lets in short wave, but blocks long wave radiation from leaving.

That is not how global warming is supposed to work. Only the heat absorbing glass would work the way most GW freaks describe our atmosphere from working. Get this, heat absorbing glass is used to reduce air conditioning loads. If the window gets hotter than the outdoor air then some of the solar heat is reduced by free cooling by the outdoor air and less heat is gained in the space. It is not good in a green house for the same reason.
