DJ UPDATE: US GAS: Futures Slip On Moderating Weather

The U.S. Energy Information Administration is expected to report that 62
billion cubic feet of gas were taken out of storage during week ended Jan. 11,
according to the average prediction of 14 analysts and traders in a Dow Jones
Newswires survey. During the same week last year, 83 bcf were taken out of
storage to meet heating demand.

Stockpiles probably fell 61 billion cubic feet in the week ended Jan. 11, according to the median of 14 analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg. Inventories fell 179 billion cubic feet in the same week a year ago, according to U.S. Energy Department data.

pressured again by weaker energy futures and a revised slightly milder
weather forecast, traders said.

Most traders and analysts expect stocks to drop by about 58 bcf when
weekly EIA storage data is released Thursday at about 10:30 a.m., a Reuters
survey showed. Stocks fell an adjusted 83 bcf for the same week last year, while the
five-year average drop for that week is 105 bcf.

GULF PRODUCTION MONITOR: January 16, 2008 Gulf production has dropped about 338,000 Dth/d today to 12.1 Bcf/d with declines in Texas and Louisiana. Independence Hub production was revised lower in Tuesday's I2 cycle and is only slightly higher today at 898,000 Dth/d. In the Louisiana area, volumes are down on a number of pipes with the largest declines on Tennessee and Columbia Gulf. In Texas, flows have dropped more than 100,000 Dth/d on NGPL.
