San Diego is probably the last place an illegal would try to come across. Lots and lots of security. But that's only about a 30 mile stretch, The Fence is 1900 miles through rugged terrain, various ecosystems, not to mention a lot of private property. Do you have any idea how much work and how many billions of dollars that would cost? And it could take 5-10 years to build.

Plus, where are we supposed to get all the labor to do it? Hire illegals?

One big problem is the Iraq quagmire. Most of our extra security manpower is stuck over there. Not much left to patrol the borders. That's also where all the money and equipment's gone.
