No, and that failure weakens their story's theme (that there is a significant war-related problem re. homicides) even more.

BTW the NYT deserves to be considered a shoddy rag based on this story. They put forth a story without facts to support them. The facts cited in the story - the 120 or so homicides - aren't enough to support the story's theme but they know their readers are so biased they'll accept the premise despite the lack of evidence.
