"Why would former military men fly the helicopter with deGuz? That's a good question. But what was presented in MacLeans magazine in late March/early April was, FWIW, something like this:- The regular helicopter pilots went on regular leave according to the company schedule and were replaced by part-time moonlighting military pilots. It was believed that the moonligting pilots wanted to augment their inadequate military pay. Perhaps it was just sheer coincidence that military personnel were on board on that fateful morning when 'deGuz' made his leap into eternity. Perhaps one might even speculate that had deGuz not jumped, they would have made him jump, anyway, and sooner than later! Regards, Richnorth
