It is true about Romney appealing to the base, though I don't see why. He has flip flopped on everything from immigration to abortion to the war in Iraq. He has flat out lied to the Michigan voters about their jobs in the auto industry coming back. When they make better cars than Toyota and Honda and Nissan? Don't think so. American capitalism cannot keep up with Japanese mercantilism in the auto area. And our automotive engineers are either lousy or their managements will not give them the freedom to create. My guess is the latter. The electric car was a GM idea and we were light years ahead of the Japanese. GM killed it, though the people who bought the first models tended to love them. Why? Nobody knows.

Right wingers like to blame labor costs, but even a quick glance at the cars tells you differently. Labor costs might make it hard for the Ford Focus to compete with the Civic. But it doesn't talk to why the Cadillac and Lincoln Town Car are so much less reliable than even cheap Japanese cars. And way less reliable than Infinitis and Lexuses.

Romney also got caught lying today about whether or not he had lobbyists in his campaign. A reporter who knew better called him on it. He then had a Clintonesque, "it depends on how you define is" moment.

The goof says he's an outsider, but his father ran for President. And George Romney was the leader until he pulled the brainwashed boner and Tricky Dick pounded him. What kind of outsider is that?

So, he may well win the nomination, but even the Republicrooks can do better than this group of Whitebread twits.
