The highly unprincipled, manipulative government is trying to control inflationary expectations. But they will fail because their own actions are highly inflationary. It is just a matter of time before government debt gets downgraded and a financial collapse becomes a reality.

This government wages war on savers. If senior citizens want a raise closer in line in line with the inflation rate, they need a good PR person telling the manipulators that they are prepared to spend all of that raise immediately on iPods and other discretionary items. <g>
