In Los Angeles you'd be surprised to see the ocean of new condos currently being constructed. It defies all logic and economics.

You can make an argument that the city has more demand than the suburbs, but really, it just makes no sense. During the 1990 downturn the lenders pulled the construction loans because it would be cheaper to be sued for damages than to continue funding the loan. But we haven't seen that yet.
