Re MBIA and Ambac, you're probably right. The old-school risk-based capital means of managing companies will likely end up dying/changing for many companies. Insurance companies and other financial institutions need to manage risk relative to catastrophe. Lets hope that Sarbannes Oxley lets people do that.

The subprime question marks are interesting, reading the Barrons article. They are solvent assuming that default rates hit 19%, which they think is high. I have no idea if 19% is high. Anyone know??
