The intent actually is for the point guard to shoot... but only after driving to the basket off the screen. If you are saying that a kid shoots even in traffic, that presents two problems: 1) there shouldn't be traffic on this play, and 2) he's a ball hog. If there is traffic, spread the other kids further out from the lane.

To exaggerate this for training purposes, use four cones for the other four offensive players and spread them 15 feet outside the lane. Have four of your kids guard the cones. I guarantee you the kids will stand about a foot from their cones (which is why you don't need any movement). Kids at this age don't know how to play off their men nor fight off screens, so the moment they get picked or if their man doesn't move they'll become observers.

BTW, it's now the end of the third quarter. I'm going to predict that this game will come down to a Norv Turner decision that backfires.
