Most thoughtful people realize that Mexican cheap labor is actually a boon to our economy and if not for them our crops would rot in the fields and never be harvested.

Excuse me, AS, but harvesting makes up only a small portion of the jobs illegals fill. The vast majority of illegals are in the cities.....taking jobs in factories, meat slaughtering plants, construction etc.

Now you tell me how it benefits this country to have these people work in these jobs, keeping wages unnaturally low in those industries, while a large portion of their money goes back to their country of origin? Who benefits? The owners of those factories and in some cases, their consumers. Who does it hurt.....low income, semi skilled Americans. Meanwhile, the areas of the cities where they settle are hurt by overcrowding and considerable demand on the infrastructure, pushing up the taxes of residents in those cities. I know you probably don't ever go east of La Brea but some time take a trip to the neighborhoods around MacArthur Park or Highland Park or the ones in East LA or in South Central.
