I had Quicken 04 and was very happy with it. I use it to balance my checkbook and keep track of Schedule C expenses for my business (relative simple sole proprietership). I really like the portfolio feature on Quicken.com that allowed me to get YTD, 1,3,5 year performance for stocks, as well as etfs and mutual funds.
I was told that I would no longer be able to use the portfolios with 2004 and would have to upgrade.
so i bought 2007 last year, installed it, and now use it for the above mentioned checkbook and business applications. However, I am unable to access and update my portfolios. It keeps telling me that I have 2004 and then I go thru the whole procedure of re-registering for 2008.
( I did an upgrade of my 2004 to 2007, rather than wiping it clean). I have written to quicken support and actually have gotten emails about what I should do to be able to access the portfolios with current info.
I've done all they said, many times, but keep coming back to the YOU HAVE 2004 on your computer.
I am about to give up on it. any one else run into this problem, and, if so, any suggestions. tia. larry
