How do we induce the users of these "biometrically challenged" smart cards to demand Identix biometric protection? I can picture it now...

Jerry Seinfeld whips into a gas station just off the autobahn in a convertible red Ferari with a tall, scantily-clad female companion. The camera pans in on some poor, scruffy-looking dope (most likely from Idaho) fishing through pockets as a large, Drew Carey- looking station attendent named Hans proclaims "31.06 marks!". The poor guy asks, "Will you take a traveller's check?" Hans responds, "Not without proper I.D., but I do take cash." The tourist responds, "But all I have is Lire."

Seinfeld grabs the pump handle and starts pumping full speed as the attendent looks on in anticipation of harassing another American tourist. Seinfeld releases the pump handle and exclaims "The perfect pump!" as the meter reads "35.00 marks." With a "Whoop! Oh! Ahhhhh!" the Identix biometrically-enhanced smart card era is born as Seinfeld whips out his card with a big Identix fingerprint logo in the corner. At the same time the Identix trademark music tag plays, similar to the "Intel Inside" chime. Seinfeld runs the card through the smart card reader and daintily places his finger on the Identix finger scanner. The commercial closes with Seinfeld and companion squealing out of the gas station and back on to the autobahn and the attendant looking very dejected.

Oh come on! It could happen.
