Rational decisions are rational only to the extent of the set of circumstances under which they were made, stands. Once that underlying set of circumstances change, the decision becomes irrational. Although it can sounds rational for you to decide to engage into a certain economic activity, today, that decision may turn out to be totally irrational once the events turn.

About 40 years ago, say 1965, if you take a decision to go into plastics, it would have made you cruise nicely throughout your economic life.

That because, then, the events would only change over a long period of time and you could baby boom your way through life nicely. After 20 years, about 1985, events would have changed significantly that your decision, under the mid 80s circumstances would sound foolish.

Cut for today. Any decision that you make, now, might sound irrational for some. But for the truly knowledgeable and superior mind it looks just brilliant. Why? Because the events are changing so fast that there’s no time to build in the rationality in a decision. But truly knowledgeable and superior knows how to make that right decision.

The Elroy’s and MQ’s of this world are still seeking the rational component, totally unaware of the “paths that lead to the depths” which are the sign of the genius.
