Well.........we made the decision to cancel the trip to Utah today. I called and found out that If they rent the room to someone else for the days I had it booked we get back 80% of our cost. So, depending on how many days they do book it, we'll get 80% of that. They may only be able to book 4 of the 6 days, or maybe all 6, but in any event, we'll at least get the cost of the 8 lift tickets back plus the cost of transportation to and from the airport. The airline tickets were bought with miles, so I ended up paying a small fine when I canceled. He admitted that he didn't think he'd be in any shape to ski in two weeks. I think he hesitated because he didn't want to disappoint me. I am disappointed that we can't go, but there's no sense going if I have to ski alone.

So...........he'll go see the doc on the 30th and we'll see what needs doing and go do it.

In the mean time I'm racking my brain trying to come up with something else we can do during that time period. He has 11 days where his main subs will be gone on vacation. He says he'll keep busy. I say fine.......maybe I'll go visit friends while he works.

And funny you should mention soup. I had some chicken bones left over from some chicken and dumplings and made stock yesterday. It would make wonderful soup. Froze all of it so I don't have to buy it at the store and just have it on hand when I need it. Your recipe looks delicious.

Have you discovered Pappardelle noodles yet?
