Brazilian Banks will begin repayments of Proer's aid in September

The National Financial System in Brazil will get an additional injection of funds beginning in September when they will receive the repayments of financial aid through the beginning of the Restructuring and Strengthening of the National Financial System Program (Proer).

Proer provide aid totaling R$18.7 billion (US$5.8 billion) to 8 privately-owned banks which will make payments of approximately R$200 million (US$62.3 million) per month.

According to Agencia Brasil, Sergio Darcy, a director at the Central Bank, explains that 52% of the payments is earmarked for housing loans. - (EMEconomy.com)
