"Where did you get the 35 acre figure?"

There are records of the size of Herod's Temple (Second Jerusalem Temple), as well as archeological evidence. This is the figure given by most authorities.

"I have spent many hours there and in numerous ball parks around the country. I'm dubious about the 50,000 number also. My guess would be closer to 25,000.

Is this the 'research' you were refering to?

"What relationship does that have to the number killed between 66-73?"

Millions slaughtered, crucified and sold into slavery amounting to the Jewish diaspora. This was the same relative period in the same location. But you don't 'believe' any Jews would feel panicky about approaching Roman soldiers. Odd that you don't see a relationship and don't believe 30k could be killed in a riot started by obscene provocations. Actually its not odd, I remember you being the guy who 'believes' very strongly in aliens. All validated in your mysterious research I suppose, do they serve strong liquor at that ball park ...

I don't believe 30,000+ were killed "

In spite of your claim to research, quite a few historical documents confirm the account, and you have provided nothing to support your 'belief'.

Your interpretation of events is typical of someone who insists on brandishing his own ignorance. The proper interpretation based on the evidence provided is that the soldier mooned them and made a farting sound in order to provoke them to the maximum degree. When they were adequately provoked and seeing the descending Roman soldiers they panicked.

Here are some more references that seem to refute your uhhh ball park 'research'.

“Under Procurator Cumanus, a riot erupts in the Temple during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, sparked by a lewd gesture by a Roman soldier stationed on the roof of the portico. Soldiers kill many and others perish attempting to escape (Ant.: 20,000; War: 30,000).”

“(according to historian Josephus, writing in about 90 C.E.) "raised his robe, stooped in an indecent attitude, so as to turn his backside to the Jews, and made a noise in keeping with his posture." This disrespectful gesture led to a riot and stampede that killed vast numbers of people: "Troops pouring into the porticoes, the Jews were seized with irresistible panic and turned to fly from the Temple and make their escape into town. But such violence as was used as they pressed around the exits that they were trodden under foot and crushed to death by one another; upwards of 30,000 perished, and the feast was turned into mourning for the whole nation and for every household into lamentation" (Josephus, Jewish Antiquities).

”A soldier watching over Jews celebrating the Passover at the Temple in Jerusalem, according to historian Josephus (writing in about 90 C.E.), "raises his robe, stoops in an indecent attitude, so as to turn his backside to the Jews, and makes a noise in keeping with his posture." This disrespectful gesture leads to a riot and stampede that kills nearly (according to Josephus) 30,000 people.”
