Ben Bernanke can go to bed tonight feeling that he has saved the world financial system. All is calm, all is bright. The Shanghai exchange has leveled out. The Australian market is up smartly. After-hours quotes for the U. S. are encouraging. The Nikkei is up 3%. All is well again. Just like Neville Chamberlain bringing home the peace in 1938 from Czechoslovakia. "Peace in our time."
