In re: 1987 vs. 2008 comparisons

I hope you and the historians are right about the end result: one VERY short bear market; what did it last, 3-4 months? August to November? I remember the big waterfall crash: everybody thought: yup, we're in a bear market, we're down 20%. But actually that marked the low; a couple days of testing the low and it was over, everybody wrong as usual.
