Go Moto!

I am now a MOT shareholder for the 1st time ever. I caught at $10.10 shortly after the open, and about 10 minutes after I placed the pre-open order. I may add today despite the bleak Q1 guidance if it heads south from there but it bounced nicely off the $10.03 low (a 4 year low) before retreating again. Down 15.75% on the day as I type, after yesterday's big hit.

They sure do have a way to go to right the handset ship, and my buy(s) may be premature, but they should be a solid recovery play again. Unit sales of mobile devices were right where I expected them to be but operating margins of those devices were worse than I expected.

"Their phones are just not selling through, they're struggling with their lineup. The overall health of the market is fine; these problems are Motorola-specific."

We'll have a better idea of the health of the market tomorrow, but I'm expecting very conservative Nokia guidance despite what should be a solid quarter.
