Suppose you are Google (or MSFT or Yahoo), and your search database is 500 GB. Consider power, latency and cost implications of all the alternatives of HD, flash and DRAM.

Clearly, the Virident solution is not best fit for all of the segments of the market, but for the above application, it is ideal.
