Buggi,
Thats right. If we take the SPSN speech from the call, it should be clear to everyone, that SPSN isn't "only" gaining share now, they seem to gain much much new sockets which will cause future market-share gains. The unknows Newco process should do the task, which lets manufactures move away from Intel/STM to other parties like Samsung and/or SPSN.
The beauty here is that Samsung can compete for only a fraction of the market. In wireless, they face a cap - mainly their own handset demand.
Since the Samsung gains (for internal consumption of its handet division) came largely at expense of Spansion (Spansion used to be a major supplier of flash to Samsung handset division), Spansion achievements of market share gains are remarkable, since they basically double vs. the rest of the NOR competitors.
To simplify things, if Samsung gained 5% in last 2 years, Spansion gained 7%, roughly speaking, Spansion lost 5% vs. Samsung and gained 12% vs. the rest of the NOR field. Of course things are not 1 to 1, but this is a rough estimate.
At some point, Samsung will saturate its internal demand (if it hasn't already happened) and further gains will be much more difficult.
