China replaces US as Japan's biggest export market. Overtook
the United States as Japan's biggest export destination in 2007
for the first time in modern history, data from Japan's Ministry of Finance showed on Thursday. In December alone, Japan's trade surplus fell a slightly larger than expected 20.9 percent from a year earlier to 877.9 billion yen ($8.23 billion). [JPTBAL=ECI] That compared with economists' median forecast for a 15.2 percent decline in the surplus to 941.5 billion yen. Following is a table of the main figures for December.
