Cowen had a $50 price target on the stock until the stock broke out strongly above the target. Sometime last week or the week before they upgraded the price target to $60 (12-18 mo). Are they going to upgrade the target again now that it's broken above $60 in only a few months! I believe the recent price rise is due to discussions occuring in some arterial vascular conference. The products are pretty hot. The high price of the stock is probably due to expectations that FDA will grant approval in the US without any problem because of all the favorable data from the rest of the world and US studies. AVEI's marketing and sales people are already geared up and ready to sell in the US as soon as they get the green light in early CY98.
