Clinton re-appointing Greenspan is a negative mark for him. It does not get Bush off the hook.

Bush I never gets the credit he deserves for having the courage to try to clear up the Reagan fiasco. It cost him the election, but it was courageous and correct. He is also a war hero, which is where he got the courageous. We can't expect his son to inherit that. However, it's just downright sad that Bush II not only did not understand economics, but that he dissed his father's efforts by praising and copying the Reagan borrow and spend policy.

Great Presidents are always lucky.
