Scott, I did not hear KLIC use the flip chip excuse....the following was the reason given. ''The company set new sales and bookings records in the September quarter, with bookings slightly exceeding sales,'' said C. Scott Kulicke, chairman and chief executive officer of K&S. ''In spite of the record bookings, both sales and earnings for the company's December quarter will most likely be lower than the quarter just ended and the current First Call Q1 FY 98 earnings consensus estimates of 59 cents, since some customers have scheduled many of the machines just ordered for delivery later in the winter." I'm not sure if flip chip is causing delays for KLIC, but if technology transition is the reason for the slowdown, then that may become reality for other process tools as they go thru their transition phases. Do you and does anyone else know who the leader in Flip Chip technology is?? dave
