"What if you had to drive ten miles and wait in line for three hours to get one?"

If you have to do that you probably have to go just as far to find a voting booth, do we need to provide limo service or bring the voting booth to your doorstep?

People with lots of money have more facility to commit voter fraud than people without money. An ID reduces the likelihood that wealthy people will vote fraudulently far more than it does for the poor. The cost of an ID is insignificant even for people receiving welfare support. There is nothing wrong with requiring a minimal amount of accountability on an important legal issue such as this.

"What if you were subject to arrest like in Nazi Germany if you didn't carry your card with you?"

Then I'd be more likely to remember to bring mine with me whenever I leave home. That is already the case by the way since I always drive when I go out. Do you think we should be required to have an ID when we drive?
