Mohan, a GTE/ BT is much more preferable to GTE/ATT. But to add gas to the fire, I see a chance that there maybe competing bids. Not the way these companies usually do business, but GTE is too attrative to let it slip by.

Hay , you want hear a funny. IBD ranks GTE an A for its accumulation rating after the big downgrade amd fall off in price. Tell me someone is not goubling up all the shares they can get their hands on. Anyone selling this now is a fool knowing how the Street really works. Why arn't the major houses sceaming BUY BUY, because they're buying for themselves and their major clients.
