Emcore Receives Additional Orders to Supply CPV Components and Systems

January 24, 2008...Emcore Corporation reported that it has received additional orders to supply its leading solar Concentrator Photovoltaic or CPV components and systems to the Spanish market through several agreements. According to Emcore it is scheduled to install the CPV systems in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain by December 2008. In January 2008, the company reached an agreement to construct an 850-kW solar power park in Extremadura, Spain. The company will utilize its CPV solar power system and provide a turn-key solution with scope of work including engineering, procurement, and construction. The company plans to complete this project before July 2008. Emcore said it will supply its CPV systems to Canadian and Korean markets. Additionally, Emcore said it will continue to invest in advancing the solar cell technology to a projected efficiency of greater than 45% by 2010.
