I think what we need is some hardball (D)'s in charge. If Lyndon Johnson was running the Senate and someone like him the House, they'd be GETTING their way on things. (D)'s that don't follow the party line would find themselves on the deepest of back benches, with no power whatsoever and no money from the party. Lyndon would be aware of every rumor, buried body, etc., and threaten to publicize it, so he'd be getting a lot more (R) votes as well. He'd be using the sugar too, offering to support (D) and (R) bills to get the votes he wants. Reid and Pelosi have been dismal failures.
